About

Tom Edwards is a Staffordshire based artist with a background in Illustration and Print. He has produced a huge variety of murals and artwork in a wide range of styles. His preferred medium is spray cans and brush due to his early involvement in the local graffiti scene of his home town of Stoke on Trent.

Tom’s work often takes cues from its immediate surroundings, whether that is the local flora and fauna, the heritage, infrastructure or culture of a particular location. Making the artwork relevant to the location is an important goal for any street art.

Tom has produced work in many styles, from intricate line drawings to bold geometric and graphic work. His current direction has a focus on traditional realism with a contemporary twist.

Many of the projects I work on have a large workshop and community engagement element. This not only helps with research and ideas generation but also helps the community take ownership of the artwork as well as further promote the project.

The opportunity to share skills, host workshops and directly involve community groups in the creation and installation of artwork is something I very much enjoy and welcome into my processes.

I have extensive experience in delivering creative workshops ranging from simple ideas generation and brainstorming sessions through to in depth scientific breakdowns of the screen printing process and expressive spray paint and street art workshops with a wide range of demographics. My approach focuses on highly engaging workshops that not only teach the participants a totally new skill, but also inspire and get them thinking about their own creative futures.
